College of Physical and Environmental Oceanography

    College of Physical and Environmental Oceanography (CPEO) is one of the oldest and most important colleges at OUC. There are approximately 90 faculty members and staff in the College, including two academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 39 professors and 20 associate professors. There are two departments and one key lab approved by the State Ministry of Education of P. R. China in this college, they are, Department of Oceanography, Department of Marine Meteorology and Physical Oceanography Lab.

    Physical oceanography is a key undergraduate program at national level appointed by the State Ministry of Education and marine meteorology is a key undergraduate program appointed by Shandong Province. Marine Science is the State Excellent Students Training Base of Science approved by National Science Foundation of China.

    Graduate Degree programs leading to Master’s and Doctoral Degrees are offered in Physical Oceanography, Atmospheric Science, Atmosphere Physics and Environment, Applied Oceanography and Management of Marine Resources. Master’s Degree on Fluid Dynamics is also offered here.
