About TJUFE

Tianjin University of Finance and Economics (TUFE): An Incubator for Future Business Leaders TUFE, founded in 1958, is one of the earliest universities offering finance, economics and business education in China.

In the early time of TUFE, the faculties were formed by the faculty of business school of Nankai University and other prestigious professors in North China. This is due to the readjustment of national education system after the foundation of People’s Republic of China. The university is under the municipal government of Tianjin on 1 October, 1969.

Now there are over 11,000 undergraduate and 1300 graduate students on campus. There are 117 professors, 226 assistant professors in the university. The university is proud of abundant professors, scholars and knowledgeable young faculty members who are well-known in the field of business and economics. At the moment, the percentage of professors and associate professors among its faculty has reached 51%. About one hundred members have already received their doctorate degrees.

A comprehensive educational system has been formed with different levels from doctorate to bachelor programs. Now we have 12 schools and departments, such as International Economics and trade, Banking, Accounting, Statistics, Law, Languages, Art, Information. Forty majors are offered in the university, which can be classified into the following 7 categories: economics, management, science, law, humanities, pedagogics and engineering. TUFE offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in 33 areas, and doctorates in statistics, accounting and finance. It is one of the universities permitted by the Ministry of Education to offer MBA programs, and among the first batch of universities authorized by the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council as early as 1987 to conduct educational programs with foreign universities and confer academic degree of foreign countries. It is also one of the universities that offer the courses of Chinese Certified Public Accountants (CPA). The university has one of the exam center of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of Great Britain and "Cambridge English Certificate".

The university covers 80 hectares, with a floor space of 400,000 square meters. The library boasts an extensive collection of books and reference materials. Most current main economics journals such as The American Economic Review, The Journal of Finance, and The Quarterly Journal of Economics are available for all students for their independent research. The modern multifunctional classroom buildings, library, indoor stadium, swimming pool, gymnasium, computer service rooms, laboratories and the students' dormitory provide an excellent environment for studying and living.

More and more overseas experts are coming to teach or conducting reach in our university. At the same time, more and more teachers and students from our university are going abroad to study and receive training. The university's foreign affairs are becoming all the more active. 1.A Cosmopolitan Port City and An Important Economic Center In North China.

Tianjin is one of the four municipalities directly under the Central Government and the second largest port city. On its east is the Bohai sea, and only 120 kilometers to its west is the capital, Beijing. As one of the earliest cities, which engaged in doing business and trade with outside world, Tianjin is stepping into a cosmopolitan port city and an important economic center in north China. 2. Tianjin University of Finance and Economics (TUFE):

The main campus of the university is located in 25 Zhujiang Road, Hexi District, Tianjin. Most departments and research center are in here. The Machangdao campus is located in the central district of Tianjin near Tianjin Institute of Foreign Languages.

The university covers 800,000 m², with a floor space of 455,600 m². The First Classroom Building and the Old Library in the ‘west campus’ is part of the history of TUFE. Along with TUFE library, the new classroom buildings and many new comprehensive buildings in the ‘east campus’ are the new faces of the university. The library boasts an extensive collection of books and reference materials both in Chinese and other languages.
