University registration

Registration time:September 11th, -September 12th,

l         Undergraduate freshmen study on Zhangzhou campus. Students can take ferries and buses arranged by our university by presenting the Admission Noticeor they can also choose to go to the Zhangzhou Campus by themselves. Students should register at designated registration.

l         Graduates and exchange students study on Xiamen main campus. Students should present the Admission Noticewhen registering at the Xiamen University Overseas Students Service Center (1 st Floor, Lianxing Building ). The registration procedures are as follows: receive the payment advice from OSAO at Lianxing Building à pay registration, tuition fees at the Bank of China on campus with the payment advice à register at OSAO at Lianxing Building with the receipt given by the bank. Accommodation fees are to be paid in cash at the service counter at Cai Qingjie Building .

Notices for registration

1) Under University regulations, students can not complete their registration until they have paid all their fees in full at designated time. The tuition fees will not return to students who drop out of school or are expelled before the end of semester. Students who start their study from the mid of semester are required to pay the fees in full.

2) Students who wish to pay in cash should go to the Bank of Chia Xiamen University Sub-branch or the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China on Zhangzhou Campus to pay the registration, tuition, and accommodation fees with the Admission Noticeand the payment advice given by OSAO.

3) Students holding bank drafts should give the draft to OSAO before registration. The OSAO will send it to the Finance Department of the University. The draft will be deposited with the Bank of China Xiamen University Sub-branch. (Students themselves will be required to meet any bank charges.)

4) Chinese Government Scholarship holders should open an account on campus and give their account No. and the receipt for opening account to OSAO. The Finance Department of Xiamen University will pay their living allowance into the account on the 15 th of each month.

5) Students are required to pay a deposit of RMB500 for the accommodation upon their check-in. Those who enjoy an accommodation waiver come before the registration time have to cover the extra charges on accommodation themselves.

6) Registration should be done at the time specified in the Admission Notice. If you are unable to register at the time specified you should seek permission from OSAO by emailing or faxing at least 5 working days before the registration date. Anyone who fails to register within the first 2 weeks of the new academic year will be considered as having voluntarily given up their place.

7) Any student presenting a counterfeit passport or a passport disaccording with their student status will automatically have their enrolment qualification withdrawn.

8) New s tudents are required to attend the orientation meeting held by OSAO after entry. The orientation includes introduction of Xiamen University , regulations and rules in the University and Laws and Regulations of China on Entry and Exit Administration. The schedule on the registration week will be released upon your registration in OSSC.

Study Expenses

•  Registration fees: self-supporting students who will study for long-term study (one semester or longer) in China should pay RMB 400.

•  Tuition fees:

Notice: The length of undergraduate study is 4-5 years, master and PhD. 3-4years, MBA, MTCSOL, IMP 2 years.

•  Cost of course materials: Students are required to buy their own required course materials. On average, this comes to about RMB 400–700 per academic year.

•  Meals:Students can have their meals in any of the cafeterias on campus. The cost comes to about RMB 500 per month.

•  Other expenses:Students should pay themselves medical expenses and other fees which the medical insurance and the teaching plan don't cover.
