International SchoolJinan University is one of the China’s oldest universities and a symbol of the cultural rebirth of the overseas Chinese in its ancestral homeland. Founded in 1906, this century old university has become a multidisciplinary institution of higher learning and research, as well as a scientific center of international repute. The establishment of International School (IS) was based on the guiding policy of providing higher educational needs of overseas Chinese and foreigners from various parts of the world. The School has become an international arena, a magnet that attracts students from around the world. They converge here to find intellectual challenge and cultural activity. As a large, comprehensive, public institution, the IS provides undergraduate education and preparation for the full suite of professional qualifications and postgraduate study. We intend to sustain steady growth in the ratio of postgraduate to undergraduate students and continue to attract substantial numbers of high quality local and international students. A distinctive feature of study at the IS is its insistence on research-led teaching, both in content and delivery. Flexible modes of delivery, in keeping with innovation in information and communication technologies and student expectations, will ensure excellent learning experiences and outcomes. All of our courses are taught in English and provide a truly international classroom and learning environment. We encourage students to pursue intellectual themes and acquire analytical skills that transcend a single academic field. Our programmes are broad and interdisciplinary but they also allow the students to specialize in topics of their choice. We take pride in providing education in its broadest sense; we help students to develop professionally and at the personal level.
