School of Chemistry and Environment

School of chemistry and environment is one of the earliest schools and departments in South China Normal University . With its emphasis on discipline cultivation, high-qualified teachers, advanced teaching and experiment devices and many years development, school of chemistry and environment has grown into a key school in South China Normal University .

Its undergraduate specialities include two science courses and two engineering courses. Undergraduate's and master's programs involve three specialities (science, engineering, and education), five primary disciplines (chemistry, environment, chemical industry, materials, and chemical teaching). At present, the school includes three departments (chemistry, environment science and engineering, and materials chemistry), a subject set based on new material science, chemical biology and applied chemistry (environment science, environment engineering, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, materials science and engineering, electrochemistry, molecular design and simulation, chemical teaching and resource, applied chemistry), two experiment systems which consist of a testing center and a experimental center (primary laboratory, modern laboratory, integration and innovation laboratory, speciality laboratory). The school comprises of six disciplines authorized to confer mastership. School of chemistry and environment has been cultivating teachers and professional with high quality for middle schools, universities, and other profession needed by Guangdong Province 's social, economic, scientific and technological development.

The school has experienced a rapid development with strong teaching and academic research force. At present, there are five provincial key courses, and seven intramural key courses in the school.
