1.The fall semester starts on about September. On arriving at SCNU, newly enrolled students should register at the Foreign Affairs Office within the period designated in the Admission Notice. For registration, the student should submit the Admission Notice, the visa application form JW202 and passport.
Those who fail to register within one month, without any prior written explanation by mail or by fax, will be regarded as giving up the student’s status. The tuition fees will not be refunded.
2.The new international students should submit 6 one-inch photos, the Admission Notice, JW202 and the Physical Examination Record for Foreigners (You can have the Physical checkup in Guangzhou).Those who fail to meet the requirements will have to take another Physical checkup at Guangdong International Health Center(#207 Longkou Rd west,Tianhe Dong, Guangzhou.Tel: 008620-38259306,38259322).The fees should be borne by the student. Registration will be denied to those whose state of health is not up to requirements.

3.Visa residence permission is handled
The new students should present the X visa or F visa when they register .
International students with X visa should bring their passports, Health Certificate, Admission Notice, and Temporary Accommodation Form for Foreigners, Photos and the Certificate issued by SCNU to the Police Station for the application of the Residence Permit. It is legal to stay in China only after you have the valid Residence Permit.
When applying for residence permit，short-term or other visas from the Division of Administration on Exit and Entry of Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau, international students should have the following documents ready: valid passport, photos taken at the photo stores which are connected to the photos verification center of Guangdong exit-entry administration, Temporary Residence Registration Form issued by the community management & Service station, visa and residence permit registration form filled by yourself.
A fine will be imposed on those who fail to renew their visas or residence permits before their expiration. No alteration of or damages to the visa or other official certificates are permissible. Violation of the rules will result in penalty.
Within 24 hours of your arrival, you shall report and register temporary accommodation in the local police station.

Failure to do so will be subjected to penalty of a fine. In addition, all new international students should register at the local police station within 24 hours after their arrival.
If there is any change in your Residence Permit, you should contact the Police Station within the designated time limit for the new change or renewal. Anyone who fails to do so will result in penalty.
Within the validity of the F visa, those who need to go back to their home country or travel to other countries or to China’s Hong Kong, Macao, should contact the Foreign Affairs Office for the permission within 10 working days. Then go to the Office for Foreigner Affairs at the Police Station to apply for the re-entry visa.
4.No alteration of or damages to the visa or other official certificates are permissible. Please take good care of your passport and visa. If you lose your passport, please report the loss to the local police station and the advertising department of “Guangzhou Daily”. Then please report to the Division of Administration on Exit and Entry of Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau. You should be responsible for all the fees involved.
