Software Engineering is a subject that study using the engineering method to build and maintain effective, practical and high quality software. It involves programming language, database, software development tools, system platform, standard, designing pattern and so on. In modern society, the software will be used in many aspects. There are some typical softwares, such as E-mail, embedded system, human-computer interface, office suite, operating system, compiler, database, games and so on. At the same time, almost each industry has a computer software application, such as industry, agriculture, banking, aviation, government departments and so on. These applications have promoted the economic and social development, and also improved the efficiency of our work and life.

Training orientation:
The target of Software Engineering is to train talents which will make the morality, intelligence, body and so on all-round development. Master the basic theory of Computational Science, the basic and application knowledge of software engineering. Make the students have the software development ability and the basic ability of the preliminary experience in software development and project organization, and can be engaged in the researching, designing, development, management, service work of the software engineering.
