Wenzhou Establishes Friendship City Relationship with Slagelse, Denmark

The delegation also attended the "Wenzhou-Slagelse Economic and Cultural Cooperation Forum”. Mayor of Slagelse extended to the delegation a warm welcome. He said the signing of the letter of intent laid the cornerstone of long-term cooperation in the future and would bring mutual benefits to both cities. According to him, Slagelse enjoys complete and mature infrastructure, proactive and innovative enterprises as well as Denmark's largest vocational education institution. The two cities are highly complementary with broad space for cooperation.

In his speech, Hu Ganggao expressed thanks for the invitation of the municipal government of Slagelse. He said, when it comes to “the past”, both cities  are coastal cities with a long history and trading as a major industry.  “At present”,  the two cities  dominated by private enterprises have some common industries and are seeking economic transition. He proposed, "in the future", the two cities may strengthen cooperation in trade, bilateral investment, and cultural exchanges to realize truly friendly exchanges.

The delegation also visited Nilpeter A/S, Selandia College of Business Technology and Education, Gerley Physical Education and Sport Academy for in-depth understanding of many aspects of local trade, manufacturing, education and so on.
