Professor Arbind Tuladhar from ITC (in Netherlands) visiting Chang’an University for academic exchange
Professor Arbind Tuladhar from Dutch urban and regional planning and geographic information management department of ITC came to our university for a five-day academic visit on November 24, 2009. The vice president of Resources Institute Ma Zhimin, as the founder of the project CHIGIM met with guest cordially and reached agreement on how to reinforce the friendly cooperation with Netherlands on Master and Doctor Education.
On the afternoon of 25, there held a remote defense in the multimedia classroom of College of International Exchange. Defense committee consists of Professor Arbind Tuladhar and Professor Ma Zhimin in China , and Professor Kees Bronsveld and Professor Jaap Zevenbergen as the chairman of this defense meeting in the Netherlands . After two students’ mid-term defense, Wang fan made her final defense and answer some academic questions. Professor Tuladhar awarded Fan Wang the Msc degree certificate and ITC brooches. Two professors of ITC in the Netherlands had a good interaction and communication with Chinese side by video all the way. At the same time, this is the first success of real-time distant teaching since the project CHIGIM started.
The next morning, Professor Tuladhar talked with students who will go to ITC and study for Msc degree on January 1, 2010. He asked about the professional background of the students, academic trends, and details of the ITC teaching characteristics and students Life .From the afternoon of 26 to the morning of 28, Professor Tuladhar discussed with his graduate students on the problems of research methods, thesis writing, field survey and guided their later-stage of thesis.
On the evening of 29, Professor Tuladhar hosted a banquet for all the ITC alumni, as if they went back to the days of ITC in the Netherlands.
