The Second Central and Eastern European “Belt and Road” Initiative Think Tank Network International Symposium HeldFrom October 15th to 16th, the Second Central and Eastern European “Belt and Road” Initiative Think Tank Network International Symposium, hosted by the School of Economics and Management, was held in HIT. The symposium focused on the training of think tanks concerning the “Belt and Road” initiative and aimed at the strategic cooperation between 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe, along with China, Mongolia and Russia. More than 40 academics of public administration, administrative management, cross-cultural research, law, humanities, and other research institutes in China, Mongolia, Russia, and Central and Eastern Europe, as well as scholars from some well-known think tanks, conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions around the topic of "Belt and Road" think tank construction and innovation, the establishment of the "Belt and Road" network of think tanks, and strategy and cooperation amongst the Central and Eastern European countries along the “Belt and Road” Professor Li Guoxin from the School of Economics and Management of HIT, Professor Dong Lisheng from the University of Tartu in Estonia, Professor Olena Bordilovska from the University of Taras Shevchenko in Kiev, Ukraine, and Assistant Professor Sigita Struberga from the University of Latvia in Latvia gave special reports to the conference, which explained the new prospects and wishes for multinational cooperation under the “Belt and Road Initiative” from multiple angles and levels. At the Conference of Opportunities and Challenges of the "Belt and Road" Initiative and the "Young Scholars Forum", experts and scholars presented related academic reports around themes including "Global Initiative, Local Issues", "4.0 Century Think Tank Talents of the Industry-Cultivating ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative", “The Role of Countries’ Preferences in the Formulation of the EU's Role in the Policy of the ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative”, “The China, Mongolia and Russia Economic Corridor”, and other related academic reports. Professor Zang Hongyu, Professor Lin Yifu, and Professor Yu Nannan of HIT shared results from their academic research at the conference and received attention from experts and scholars. At the meeting, the launching ceremony of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s “Belt and Road” Talent Strategy Think Tank was held. Professor Ye Qiang, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Liu Yiyi, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department’s International Project Management Center, Professor Mi Jianing, representative of the think thank experts, Professor Song Yaowu from the Northeast Petroleum University, and Professors Irina Turgel and Olina Potilovaska from the Russian Federal University of Ural, together switched on the crystal ball. It is reported that the think tank is based on the mission of “Cohesive Strength and Common Future” and relies on the “Belt and Road” Think Tank International Master's Program, the “Belt and Road” Think Tank Network Development International Seminar, and the “Belt and Road” Talent Strategy Research Project. Its mission and vision is to research the “Belt and Road” Initiative talent strategy issue, the demand for talented individuals in constructing the “Belt and Road” Initiative, and the cultivation of talented international students for the “Belt and Road” Initiative, as well as to promote the “16+3” Think Tank Network cooperation and development and build a multinational university cooperation platform. At present, there are 22 think tank experts (including 12 domestic scholars and 10 overseas scholars). Domestic and foreign experts and scholars, teachers and students of the School of Economics and Management, and international students of the “Belt and Road” Think Tank International Master’s Program participated in the conference.
