How is NPU in a freshman's perspective?

Hello everyone! I am Omodolapo Victor Babalola (李胜), a blissed and proud NPU 2020 Freshman. I just started this reverie journey at the School of Software and Microelectronics - NPU as PhD student to learn and produce impactful research in the field of Machine Learning and Big Data. 

I hail from Ibadan, Oyo State (an agricultural city with heritage of Yoruba people), Nigeria. My country is known as the largest economy of Africa with about 371 ethnic groups and appx. 520 spoken languages spread across 36 states and the Federal Capital territory, Abuja. The city of Lagos, Nigeria is also considered as the Silicon Valley of Africa.

I have acquired my Bachelors in Computer Engineering at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Nigeria. Thereafter, I started my Chinese Dream as masters student at Changchun University of Technology, China. I am also trained system engineer and administrator several years of professional experience in Information Security and Information Technology industries. I have also volunteered with the Red Cross Society to render humanitarian support to the vulnerable.

The excellence of NPU in Engineering research, pleasantness in guidance by NPU admission team and thoroughness of NPU selection process endeared me and made it easy for me to choose NPU among offers from many top institutes.

The dormitories are bespoken attached with neat cafeterias serving delicious food round the clock. I love the sports facilities provided to students with huge gymnasiums, fresh water pool, soccer pitches and badminton courts of International standards. All the classrooms are well equipped with digital teaching aids along with conventional chalkboards. The Chang’an campus under the shadow of mesmerizing Qingling Mountains feels majestic and fairytale like with huge monuments and planes laying down around the green grass carpets. NPU can easily be categorized as having the most beautiful campus and the best engineering research institute.
