Nanjing University Holds Opening Ceremony for Freshmen

An inauguration ceremony was held for the new undergraduates of 2011 on September 6. Upwards of 3,800 freshmen started their new life at Nanjing University. Their first challenge would be a two-week-long military training course.
 
Nanjing University President Chen Jun delivered a speech entitled “Responsibility, Thanksgiving and Reciprocation,” encouraging the freshmen to cherish high aspirations, bravely undertake social responsibilities and repay the society.
 
Executive Vice President Zhang Rong, Academician Sun Yisui, Academician Fu Congbin, and Academician Wu Rongsheng also attended the ceremony presided over by Vice President Min Tiejun.
