Why choose to study this program?
By the time you graduate, you should:
be able to produce architectural proposals that reflect: the history and theory of the discipline; an understanding of purpose to which the building will be put; make appropriate use of the built and natural environments;
Level 1 will lay the foundations for future years. You will explore the representation, modelling and design of small buildings in studio modules. You will also learn about the history and theory of architecture and building technology.
At level 2, you will have more freedom to pursue larger scale design projects in the studio modules; you will continue to learn about building technology and the history and theory of architecture, along with urban studies.
In the final year, you will undertake a series of more complex individual projects, which will require you to demonstrate a full understanding of the design process from the initial concept through to the design of a realistic building, taking into account structural and material considerations.
