Return Visa
Students who have valid residence permit already could return China mainland without applying for return visa again when going abroad including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
Visa or Residence Permit Extension International students should be careful of your visa or residence permit expiration date. If your visa or residence permit expires, you have to pay fine ranging from RMB500 yuan to 5000 yuan or even be taken into custody by Public Security Bureau. Students who continue to study at BISU should come to FSAO for visa extension at least ten days before expiration (you should pay tuition before visa extension. If your visa expires during the semester break, you should do it before that.) Then you could go to Beijing Public Security Bureau to get visa or residence permit extended with papers like Visa or Residence Permit Application Form provided by FSAO, valid passport, registration form of temporary residence and one passport size (2 inch) picture with pale blue or white background.
Changes in the Information about Visa or Residence Permit New students who register with tourist visa or old students who fail to get residence permit extended as required and return school with a new tourist visa have to apply for residence permit again at their own expenses. New students who transfer from other universities are supposed to provide BISU Admission Notice and Transfer Certificate offered by previous university to renew residence permit. If you have any changes about your living address or passport number, you should inform FSAO within ten days, and register in the visa section of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau with Visa or Residence Permit Application Form provided by FSAO, valid passport, registration form of temporary residence and one passport size (2 inch) picture with pale blue or white background.
Passport Lost As soon as you find out that your passport is lost, you should immediately report to the local police station and go to visa section of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau to get a proof document and then apply for a new passport in the embassy in Beijing. After that, please return to FSAO and apply for a new visa or residence permit.
