Marxism & Leninism College(Institute of Chinese Ethnic Theories & Policies)

School of Marxism & Leninism (Institute of Chinese Ethnic Theories & Policies  was founded in March 2004 based on the former Education and Science Institute of Ethnic Theories & Policies and the former Education and Science Institute of Marxism & Leninism . Currently, it has 6 teaching and research offices, 1 teaching and research center, and 2 research institutes. At present, the school is responsible for the teaching of theoretical courses of ideology and politics for all the undergraduates of the university. It has a doctoral program of Marxist Ethnic Theory & Policy, 3 master programs of Marxist Ethnic Theory & Policy, Basic Principle of Marxism and Education on Ideology & Politics, 2 undergraduate programs of Ethnology (the direction of Ethnic Theories & Policies and the direction of Ethnic Theories & Economics). The school incorporates 25 staff members. Among them, 22 are teachers (4 of whom undertake both teaching and administrative work) and 3 are responsible for administrative work.

The discipline of Marxist Ethnic Theory & Policy is a unique Chinese social science discipline, which was set up with the attention and support of the state and Communist Party. It has played an important role in providing theoretical support and references for the making of China’s ethnic policies and the solving of China’s ethnic problems. Marxist Ethnic Theory & Policy of the school is the first in China in many senses. It is the first ministry- and commission-level key discipline, one of the first key construction disciplines for the “211 Project” and “985 Project”, the first of the field in getting the right to grant master and doctoral degrees, and has the first state-level “Prominent Educator” . It has a complete education system integrating undergraduate, master and doctoral programs. The School of Marxism & Leninism of Central University for Nationalities has always maintained its leading position in the research of the discipline.
