School of International Studies

Over the past fifty years, the School of International Studies (SIS) has been committed to cultivating multi-disciplinary graduates for both the business and academic arenas. SIS fosters originality, innovation, honesty and truth.

Being one of the oldest schools at the University of International Business and Economics, the School of International Studies is among the top institutions around China. It is a sanctuary of knowledge for all undergraduate and graduate candidates.

The School of International Studies consists of four departments---Linguistics and Literature, Translation and Interpretation, Business English and General English. Six research institutes have been established---the Institute of Theoretical Linguistics, the Institute of Applied Linguistics, the Institute of English and American Literature, the Institute of Translation, the Institute of English-Speaking Countries Studies and the Institute of Business English.

Every year 480 undergraduates join the workforce, and 80 graduate candidates are enrolled. There are currently one hundred and ten faculty members, many of whom are influential scholars and experts. We are proud of the students, faculty and alumni who are part of this dynamic global community of thinkers, scholars and leaders.

Positioning itself as an educational institution aspiring to a greater international reputation, the School of International Studies has carried out a wide range of international cooperation and programs with a lot of well-known foreign universities or organizations.
