College of Electronic Information and Control Engineering

Presently the total enrollment of full-time students in the college is more than 2,000, among which there are 1,500 undergraduate students, 500 Master’s Degree students, and 50 Doctoral degree students. There are 114 teaching staff, among which there are 29 Professors and 68 Associate Professors.

The college comprises three departments: the Department of Automation, the Department of Electronic Information Engineering, the Department of Electronic Science and Technology, and one experiment center serving for the university:Electric & Electronic Experiment Field Work Center. Four researching programs of the college are Automation, Electronic Information Engineering, Electronic Science and Technology and Comminication Engineering. The research and teaching are concentrated in fields of control engineering, smart systems, automatic technology, signal and image processing, communication technology, model recognition, microelectronic devices, optoelectronic technology and reliability anaysis, etc.

There are also two key labs of Mnistry of Education: the Digital Community Engineering Research Center of the Mnistry of Education and the Optoelectronics Technology Labrotory of the Mnistry of Education, and also two labs of Beijing, which are Beijing Optoelectronics Technology Labrotory and Beijing Signal and Information Processing Labrotory, and some labs to the university as Solid Sate Electronics Institute, Image Processing and Patter Recognition Research Labrotory and so on. It has obtained important achivements in teaching and scientific research and a lot of national key research projects have been undertaken in the college.

Recently, the college has established cooperative training programs for students. There are 10 students going abroad to Finland and 10 students to the University of Dundee to study every year. Those students can get double Bachelor’s degrees from Beijing University of Technology and the foreign universities after graduation. The college has extensive academic collaboration with foreign universities and research organizations in the United States, Japan, UK, Sweden, Switzerland and other countries and areas.There are about 30 teachers and students going abroad to research, study and attend international conferences every year and a bunch of foreign experts and teachers are invited to give lectures, conduct academic and research every year. Thus the academic and research level of the college has been greatly improved.
