2011 Symposium on University Globalization was Held in USTB

      
On May 26, the symposium on University Globalization: Status and Prospects attracted the attendance of delegates of five universities to USTB. Prof. Chung-Jen Chin, President of Chaoyang University of Technology, Prof. Im Sang Gyu, President of Sunchon National University, Korea, Prof. Ichiro Uyeda, Vice President of Hokkaido University, and Prof. Wang Xiaochang, Vice President of Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology led their delegations to USTB. Chancellor Luo Weidong, President Xu Jinwu, and Prof. Zhang Yue, Vice- President of USTB also attended the symposium. Prof. Wang Ge, Director of the International Office chaired the meeting.
     
Chancellor Luo Weidong delivered his welcome speech, expressing his congratulations on the opening of the symposium and warm welcome to all the participants. He noted that this symposium provided opportunities for five universities to enhance cooperation and discuss higher education management. He said that next year would be the 60th anniversary of the foundation of USTB and he invited all the university presidents to come again for the exchange of strategies of university internationalization.
      
On the symposium, the presidents of five universities gave their speeches regarding issues such as current development, prospects and strategies of university internationalization. In these speeches, they provided a detailed introduction of their internationalization strategies and made an analysis of the development of university internationalization around the world. Later, they gave further reports on achievements and updates of internationalization of their own universities.
      
The opening of the symposium advocates the exchange and friendship among universities. And it will pave the road for the more cooperation in the future.
