An annual Chinese Day – Dragon Boat Festival was successfully held by Confucius Institute of Beijing Union University and University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UK) on May 23 and 24, 2014. In this event, Chinese culture has been spread into local community and inspired college students via various activities.

The Chinese Day was organized at two venues. Serials lectures on Food in time and space: Egypt-China-Wales were held at Research Center for Chinese Ancient Books. 

On the other side, Chinese teachers decorated the reading room of Confucius Institute with Chinese calligraphy, Chinese paintings and other typical Chinese ornaments in order to share Chinese charm in food and culture. Also, a tea house was designed in the reading room which brought a sense of Chinese elegancy to local residents.

The event was jointly organized by Confucius Institute of Beijing Union University and University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Research Center for Chinese Ancient Books of University of Wales Trinity Saint David, and Roderic Bowen Library & Archive.
