College of Electronics and Information EngineeringThe College of Electronics and Information Engineering is composed of the Department of Computer Science and Technology, The Department of Control Science and Engineering, The Department of Information and Communication Engineering, The Department of Electrical Engineering, The Department of Electronic Science and Technology, CIMS Research Centre, CAD Research Centre and Research Institute of Semiconductor and Information Technology. The College attaches great importance to both research and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It possesses a qualified teaching staff totaling 310, among whom there are forty-eight full professors, eighty-two associate professors/senior engineers, thirty-two PhD student supervisors and ninety-eight Master degree student supervisors. The College offers seven Bachelor degree programs, fifteen Master degree programs, seven doctoral programs and one postdoctoral mobile station. Up to September 2003, there are eighty students for doctoral degree on Engineering, eight hundred and forty-six students for Master of Science on Engineering and two hundred and six students for Master of Engineering and 3600 undergraduate students. The College plays an active role in international exchange and cooperation activities, carrying out regular student exchange programs with its counterparts in Australia, Finland, Germany, and U.K. Moreover, the College runs jointly with the Sino-German College a Master degree program of the University in information and control science. The College has a comprehensive range of teaching facilities. In the Teaching and Experiment Centre, there are the Standard Software Laboratory, EDA Laboratory and PLC Technology Laboratory, which are sponsored by the State Ministry of Education. It also boasts of over twenty department-level special and fundamental laboratories such as the DSP Laboratory. In recent year's, the College has secured it total project fired of over 30 million Yuan from big companies. |
