College of Traffic and Transportation EngineeringThe College of Traffic and Transportation Engineering boasts having first-class teaching and research in comprehensive land traffic and transportation. Its major disciplines can be dated back to 1951. The departments in the College are the Department of Roads and Airports, the Department of Traffic Engineering, the Department of Transportation Management and the Department of Traffic Information Engineering. In the College there are also the Research Institute of Roads and Traffic Engineering, the Research Centre of Intelligence Traffic System and the Joint Experimental Research Centre of Traffic Information Communications. In addition, the College has a Key Laboratory of Road and Traffic Engineering of the State Ministry of Education, the only national laboratory in the field of road and traffic in China. Its Road and Traffic Engineering, Traffic and Transportation Planning and Management are listed as state level key disciplines. There are over 160 employees in the College. Among them there is one academician from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, thirty-one full professors, thirty-eight associate professors and twenty-one doctoral student supervisors. The College has three Bachelor Degree programs, four Master degree programs and four doctoral programs and two postdoctoral mobile stations. At present, there are 850 Bachelor degree students, 320 Master degree students and 150 Master degree students in Engineering and 160 doctoral students in the College. The College has produced a large number of professionals of planning, construction and management in the field of traffic and transportation for the country. It has also completed a quantity of national pioneering research projects and significant and construction projects. It has maintained wide international links with its counterparts in different countries and regions in the world. Therefore the College has a good reputation both at home and abroad. |
