From August 26 to 28, at the gate of the School of Overseas Education of Southeast University, a large number of volunteers welcomed more than 300 international students from 57 countries, including Belarus, France, Kazakhstan, Germany, Italy, Bangladesh, Russia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Sudan, Iran, Yemen, Mexico and Chile. Southeast University is a university with a long history and profound heritage. The school was founded in 1902 as Sanjiang Normal School, and later went through important periods of development such as Liangjiang Normal School, Nanjing Higher Normal School, National Southeast University, and National Central University. In 1952, the college of Arts and Science was moved out of the national College of higher Education, with the former College of Engineering of National Central University as the main body, and successively merged into the related departments of Fudan University, Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Jinling University, etc. Nanjing Institute of Technology was established on the site of the original headquarters of National Central University. In May 1988, the school was renamed Southeast University.
In April 2000, the former Southeast University, Nanjing Railway Medical College and Nanjing Jiaotong College were merged, and the Nanjing Geological School was merged into the new Southeast University. In the course of running a school for more than 120 years, Southeast University has always had the world in mind and the motherland in mind, constantly striving for scientific progress and national rejuvenation, and pursuing excellence. It has gradually formed the excellent school spirit of "rigorous, truth-seeking, unity and striving" and the school-running philosophy of "serving the country with science and talents", casting the school motto of "Stop at the best".
