This program aims to develop the Chinese language skills of international students and introduce them to the richness and depth of Chinese culture. In the program, the language level mainly focuses on improving the Chinese oral ability of international students, while the cultural level focuses on helping international students learn and understand Chinese traditional culture and customs. In order to meticulously distinguish the Chinese language level of international students, the College of International Education arranges a Chinese language proficiency test at the beginning of the semester and assigns students to classes according to their test results. The Chinese language learning program is divided into three levels: elementary, intermediate and advanced. Those who successfully complete the program will be awarded the Certificate of Completion by SDUW. Period of study: one semester or longer, starts in March and September every year. 1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good physical and mental health and possess a valid foreign passport. Applicants under the age of 18 must submit relevant supporting documents At the time of application and entry. 2. For those who were originally Chinese citizens and later became foreign nationals, and those who have acquired a foreign nationality at birth, one or both of the parents are Chinese citizens and have resided in a foreign country, are subject to the regulations as stated in Document No. 12 [2020] of the P.R.C Ministry of Education and applicants must submit relevant supporting documents; 3. Photocopy of passport, including the page of personal information and visa or residence permit. The passport should have a validity of at least 6 months. 3. High school diploma or above or equivalent. If the certificates are not available yet, a pre-graduation certificate should be presented to affirm the applicant’s expected graduation date. 4. Electronic Photos Note: The photo should be in the size of 33mm×48mm with white background in JPG format. Scanned copies of developed photos are not acceptable.
