A brief introduction to the MBA center of NCU
Entrusted by the Ministry of Education, NCU has the right to award Master's Degrees in Business Administration. In 1977, NCU started to cooperate with the University of Poitiers in France in the field of jointly educating MBAs. For 12 years, more than 100 students from France have studied and received internship in China, while more than 800 Chinese students have finished their study and internship in France, from which rich experiment of running MBA programs is accumulated by the center. With integrating the distinguished teaching staff that have specialized attainments both in theory and practice, making use of the advantages of NCU in aspects of rational specialties setting, excellent campus environment and infrastructure, and the wide-ranging bases for social practices, the objective of the MBA program of NCU is cultivating business administration elites with a modern management ideology and comprehensive qualities in management. In 2009, with the aim of enhancing international communication, Nanchang University decides to develop this two years' Master of Business Administration program (MBA).

Studying Contents
◆ Regular Courses
The courses of this program consist of three parts: basic courses, core courses and core selective courses. Among them, basic courses and core courses are compulsory, while at least three core selective courses must be chosen.
1) Basic courses: Business Chinese, General Introduction to China
2) Core courses: Enterprise Management, Managerial Economics, International Marketing, Strategy Management, International Accounting, International Corporate Finance, Human Resources Management, and International Business Environment
3) Core selective courses: Supply Chain Management, Macro Economics, Micro Economics, Project Management, Investment Management, Performance Measurement and Evaluation, Management Communication
◆ Case study
Students apply the instruments of economic analysis to cases and real world examples so that they also learn about specific industries and world trade areas. Students learn to work in internationally composed teams and they train their ability to work in an English-speaking environment.
◆ Internship
Students are required to conduct internship during their studying. The school will hold activities that helping the students seeking intern opportunities from time to time. The school will also invite enterprise executives come and give lectures to the students.
◆ Dissertation
In the last Semester, students should work on their dissertations which are required to conduct a research project on an international business issue. In the dissertation, students should apply the theories and methodologies they learned to analyze and solve a practical business problem.

Teaching and Studying Approaches
Seminars, group discussions, case studies and role plays assigned to small teams of students are used to integrate the above-mentioned competences. The Master program is based on a student-centered learning approach so that class-contact hours may be rather used for discussion than traditional lectures. Social competences and leadership skills are developed through field research, team assignments and projects, and the presentation and defense of the Master thesis.
Learning and teaching is focused on applied studies. Thus, theories and models are learned and taught within the context of their application to international business issues and applied in practical projects, case studies, and market analyses. Company visits and the invitation of company representatives to participate in class discussions help to integrate the practical company view into academic studies. Also, the Master thesis deals with real-life issues of businesses in an international environment. Ideally, students write the thesis in cooperation with a company while combining desk with field research.
English as the language of instruction and assessment, courses in a second foreign language, the integration of visiting professors in teaching and exchange students in learning groups, the use of text books and articles published by authors from different parts of the world, and the obligation to spend two semesters abroad guarantee the students on this program are immersed in an international setting suitable for preparing them for a career in multinational companies or institutions.

For non-native English speakers, passing an English test which contains written and oral parts given by NCU.
For native English speakers, only passing the oral part of the English test is enough.

Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.
If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be

For example, IELTS or TOEFL, only for applicant whose native language is
not English.
