Control Theory and Control Engineering

The discipline adheres to the idea of "Disciplinary construction is at the centre of everything" and sets its foothold in the field of automation and instrument. It has fully taken advantage of Chongqing as a base with the strongest independent research and development capability in China, the strongest systemizing capacity, an inclusive range of products, industrial automation and control systems on the largest industrial scale and the instrument' s research and development and industrialization. With these advantages, the discipline aims at the important scientific and technological issues in the forefront, opens up new developments, cultivate innovative talents, transform and upgrade traditional industries with automation and instrument technologies, and plays a major part in the scientific and technological innovation system of Chongqing, even of China. It has created a rationally-structured team of teachers with strong teaching and researching abilities, innovative spirit, and efficiency, including 5 doctoral tutors of doctors, 32 professors and associate professors, 21 Ph. D. In recent years, the discipline has been granted 7 awards at provincial and ministerial levels, 1 outstanding educational achievement awards, an outstanding teaching material award. And 4 academic books and over 270 academic papers (over 100 papers are selected by SCI / EI / retrieval system) have been published, 6 utility model and invention patents are granted respectively, 8 invention and 2 utility model patents are applied for, with a total research fund of more than 30 million yuan.
The discipline is a provincial, ministerial scientific research base of Network Control Technology and Intelligent Instrumentation key laboratories of colleges and universities in Chongqing, Automotive Electronics and Embedded Systems Engineering and Technical Research Centers of colleges and universities in Chongqing, the Ministry of Information Industry Post automatic control technology key laboratories, the Intelligent Instrument and Control equipment Engineering technology Research Center (co-established with the Four Joint Group of China), scientific research bases. At the same time, it actively participates in international cooperation by building the "Sino-South Korea (Chongqing) Embedded Software and System R&D Centers " with the Konkuk University , Xian Wen University and Ren He University of South Korea with the South Korean government research funds support, and by selecting outstanding students for free study in South Korea. It has also established with joint efforts of Shenyang Institute of Automation of CAS, the Four Joint Group of China " ICT Joint Research Centre", "Chongqing Communication Technological Transformation Center of CAS" and is affiliated into the core of it as a national EPA research team. It has set up an automated control laboratory with the United States Luokeweier (Rockwell), and conduct joint scientific research and personnel training with the ESSEX University of the United Kingdom, the Sydney University of Technology of Australia currently.
The discipline is a key discipline both of Chongqing Municipality and the Ministry of Information Industry with its own characteristics and obvious advantages in research. It is positioned in the front in the west China in terms of its overall power, and has exerted certain impact both at home and abroad with some of research results at the international forefront. For example, its "EPA standard", made with the discipline as the major part, has been released by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) as IEC / PAS 62409 and has become China's first international standard with independent intellectual property right in automation control.
