Architecture

Architecture is a strongly comprehensive subject involving areas such as science, engineering, humanities and art. This subject features a combination of science and art as well as scientific engineering and humanities, thus demanding students to have an expansive knowledge and a strong ability of imagery. (Individuals with color blindness are not accepted into this major)
Main courses include Mathematics, Fundamentals of Computer , Introduction of Building Technology, Architecture Design Studio, Principles of Urban Planning , Preliminary of Designing, Expression of Space Form, Pencil Sketch, Water Color Painting, Architecture Design Sketch, Water Color Rending, Engineering Technology, Engineering Mechanics, Structural Mechanics, Building Structure, History of Chinese Architecture, History of Western Architecture, History of Contemporary Architecture, Building Economics, Building Physics, Surveying and Drawing of Ancient Buildings, Design Practice and so on.
Application Schedule
On-line application: March 1 – March16, 2012.

Hardcopies of application materials due: March 19 - March 30, 2012.

Entrance Examination
(1) Subjects of Written Examination for Science, Engineering and Management Programs: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English.

(2) Subjects of Written Examination for Law, Humanities and Social Sciences Programs: Basic Chinese Language, Chinese Writing, General Knowledge, and English.

(3) Subjects of Written Examination for Arts and Design Programs: Chinese Writing, General Knowledge, Sketch, Quick Sketch, and Color Painting.

Extra exams are requested for some programs: Sketch for Architecture Program, Oral Test for English and Japanese Programs, and Mathematics for Experimental Class of Social Sciences and Psychology.

Interview may also be requested by some department/schools.

Written Examination: May 12 - 13, 2012
