The School of Economics offers four specialties, namely, Economics, International Economics and Trade, Financing, Taxation; besides, the school has a training base for economics personnel and a class of international economics and trade (business English). Established in 2000, the specialty of economics has been developed into two key subjects that to be built respectively by the provincial department and the school, namely, National Economy and Political Economy. Among the other two specialties established in 1987, financing is a special discipline to be built by Jiangsu province as well as a school key subject. The school of Economics has around 900 undergraduates and postgraduates, 66 full-time teachers, 12 professors, 26 associate professors, 30 PhDs and PhD candidates. One staff member enjoys special allowance from the State Council. In recent years, the school has published over 50 well-known textbooks in fields of national economy, world economy, industrial economy, regional economy, international trade, financing and taxation. Besides, the school has published over 600 theses, accomplished over 40 national, ministerial and provincial research projects, and won over 30 teaching and research projects.
B.A. Public Finance
Objectives: The Public Finance specialty is a branch of the Applied Economics, of which the aim is to train students with a high quality of professional knowledge to meet the need of the construction of the socialist market economy and the need of other fields concerned with economy.
