The EMA program was established in 2005 by the School of International Relations and Public Affairs (SIRPA). It provides an opportunity of studying the political, diplomatic, and administrative reality of China for foreign students. All academic courses are taught in English. Our mission is to enhance both the students' analytical skills and their knowledge of China, with a purpose to build up a solid foundation for professional career. In 2009, ten students from nine countries got their MA degrees. The program admits both degree and non-degree students according to a competitive basis.

The EMA degree program requires a two-year full-time study. For non-degree students, they can study for one or two semesters. We offer courses including Political Development in Modern China, Chinese Diplomacy, Chinese Public Administration, International Politics, Chinese Economy, Chinese Modern History, International Relations in East Asia, Political Economy in East Asia, Research Methods, and Seminar Series on Chinese and World Affairs. The Faculty members have a diverse background and some of them received their Ph.D. degrees abroad.
