Chinese Government Scholarships Scheme

With the purpose of promoting understanding and friendship between the Chinese people and people from all over the world, the Chinese government sets up various scholarship schemes to offer financial support for international students and scholars to undertake studies and research in Chinese institutions of higher education.

1. China/AUN Scholarship Program
China/AUN Scholarship is a full scholarship program provided for ASEAN member countries by the Ministry of Education of P. R. China (hereinafter referred to as MOE). MOE entrusts China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC) to manage the recruitment and carry out the routine management of this scholarship program.
2. CHINA/UNESCO-The Great Wall Fellowship Program
China/UNESCO -- the Great Wall Fellowship program is a full scholarship program set up by the Ministry of Education of P. R. China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) for candidates recommended by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). MOE entrusts China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC) to manage the recruitment and carry out the routine management of this scholarship program.
3. Cooperative Program with Provinces & Autonomous Regions
Cooperative Program with Provinces and Autonomous Regions is established by the Ministry of Education of P. R. China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) aiming to encourage and support local government for setting program for international students. The education authorities in the provinces and autonomous regions under this program lead the local institutions to carry out the recruitment. China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC), entrusted by the MOE, holds the responsibility of the verification, approval and the routine management of the program.
4. Study in Asia Scholarship Program
It is a full scholarship program established by the Ministry of Education of P. R. China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) aiming to stimulate the mobility of Asian students and scholars within Asia. It is aimed to strengthen mutual understanding among people in Asian countries, develop education cooperation and exchanges, and promote Asian education quality. MOE entrusts China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC) to manage the recruitment and carry out the routine management of this scholarship program.
5. Chinese Government Scholarship Program
Chinese Government Scholarship Program is established by the Ministry of Education of P.R. China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) in accordance with educational exchange agreements or understandings reached between the Chinese government and the governments of other countries, organizations, education institutions and relevant international organizations to provide both full scholarships and partial scholarships to international students and scholars. MOE entrusts China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC) to manage the recruitment and carry out the routine management of Chinese Government Scholarship Program.
6. China / PIF Scholarship Program
China/Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) scholarship program is a full scholarship provided for PIF member countries by the Ministry of Education of P. R. China (hereinafter referred to as MOE). MOE entrusts China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC) to manage the recruitment and carry out the routine management of this scholarship program.
7. China / World Meteorological Organization Program
China/World Meteorological Organization (WMO) scholarship program is a partial scholarship provided for SCO member countries by the Ministry of Education of P. R. China (hereinafter referred to as MOE). MOE entrusts China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC) to manage the recruitment and carry out the routine management of this scholarship program.
8. Degree Program in Provinces & Autonomous Regions
Degree Program in Provinces & Autonomous Regions is established by the Ministry of Education of P. R. China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) aiming to strengthen the education exchanges and cooperation between China and its neighboring countries. The education authorities in the provinces and autonomous regions under this program lead the local institutions to carry out the recruitment. China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC), entrusted by the MOE, holds the responsibility of the verification, approval and the routine management of the program.
9. University Post Graduate Program
University Postgraduate Program is established by the Ministry of Education of P. R. China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) aiming to provide supports to Chinese HEIs in building high level universities, and promote Chinese higher education brand on an international basis. The Chinese HEIs under this program are responsible for the recruitment of international students. China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC), entrusted by the MOE, holds the responsibility of the verification, approval and the routine management of the program.
