Booking of Train & Flight Ticket

Jinghui Booking Center, located near the front gate of the north campus, is an agency for booking train and flight tickets.

Health Care

North Campus Medical Center:

located next to the canteen of the east extent on campus,

South Campus Medical Center:

located next to the No.2 Canteen.

You are required to join the Health Insurance if you study for more than six months at SCUT. The insurance premium is 300RMB/semester or 600RMB/year. If you have joined in other similar insurance plan in your home country or in China, please present the related documents when register. Scholarship awardees of Chinese government are NOT required to pay for the insurance.

Currency & Banking

Foreign currency such as Pound, HK Dollar, US Dollar, Euro, Japanese Yen, Canada Dollar, Australia Dollar, etc. can be exchanged to RMB at banks.

Exchange can be done with 7 types of foreign credit cards at the exchanged sites:
American Express, Master Card, VISA, Dinner's Club Card, JCB, Million Card, Federal Card

There is an Industrial and Commercial Bank of China opposite to the International Student Dorm. And another Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Bank of China, China Construction Bank and Agricultural Bank of China can be easily accessed in Wushan suburb just outside the north campus.

Internet Services

Computing:
There is Internet access in every room within the International Student Dorms on both campuses with a charge of RMB 50 per month.

Besides, students can use computers and access to Internet in the computing centers or libraries on both campuses.

North Campus Computing Center: 500 sets of computers of C4 2.4-2.6G,512RAM,60-80G.
South Campus Computing Center: 350 sets of computers of P4 2.8G,512RAM,80G. Opening hours: Mon – Fri. 9:00 am – 10:00 pm; also open Sat & Sun. Location: Building A3.

Telecom:
Every room of the International Student Dorm is equipped with a 200 phone.200 phone cards can be purchased at the store of Xihu Canteen which is opposite to the dorm.

The post office is situated near the basketball court which is next to the International Student Dorm.

Sports & Recreation

North Campus:
1.Basketball courts: 8 courts are located in the west area, opening to public for free
2.Tennis courts: located near the east gate of the campus, opening hours 9:00-19:00, RMB 50 Yuan/hr
3.Badminton courts: 8 courts of International standard are located inside the gymnasium, opening hours: Mon-Fri. 7:00-19:00, Sat & Sun: 9:00-22:00, RMB 20 Yuan/hr
4.Skating rink: behind Building 33 with an area of 800 square meters, opening to public for free
5.Swimming pool: near the east gate, opening to public in summer from 6:30-18:00

South Campus:
1.Track and field: situated between the No.1 and No.2 canteen
2.Volleyball courts: next to the C1 student dorm, opening to public 24 hrs for free
3.Basketball courts: in the student dorms area, opening to public for free
4.Gymnasium: located on the ground floor of Building A2, opening hours: 9:00-21:00
