Business School of Sichuan University is established through merging with the formal Sichuan University, Chengdu University of Science and Technology (CUST) and West China University of Medical Science (WCUMS). It is a new type school incorporating with the former School of Economics and Management, the School of Commerce and the Department of Management Science & Engineering, whose history can date back to 1980s.

Business School adhered to the principle of "Health behavior and great virtue, talents training by morality", adhere to the "open-minded toward self-improvement, people-oriented, advocating academic pursuit of excellence" philosophy, makes student-centered education as theme, considering teachers as education main body and subject construction as focus, and develop variable levels teaching management and scientific research.

Business School of Sichuan University consists of 10 departments and 17 research institute, with a faculty member of 139, including 23 professors, 52associate professors, 2 experts who are granted with special subsidy at the national level, 3 academic and technique leaders at the provincial level, 2 excellent experts who contribute a lot to Sichuan province. There are over 5000 students in total in all kinds of department. Through about 6-year sound and sustainable development, Business School of Sichuan University has 2 first-class disciplines to grant Doctor's degree and 2 disciplines including MBA and ME to grant Master's degree.

In the respect of overseas cooperative research and teaching, it has a friendly and stable relationship with many notable universities from America, United Kingdom, Germany and Japan, etc..

Since the establishment of Business School of Sichuan University in 2001, the discipline development with a characteristic of incorporating Art discipline with Science discipline, permeating Science with Engineering has been formed, and abundant research achievement has been reaped, including leading and finishing 31 national natural science fund projects( 1 project concerning with national prominent pioneer fund, 1 key project ), 14 national social & Science fund projects (including 1 major bid project and 2 key projects), 1 national soft science projects, 17 scientific research projects under the guidance of MOE (including 1 Humanities and Social Science Post-funded major project of MOE), 28 social science and soft science project of Sichuan Province. Apart from that, more than 1200 pieces of academic papers are issued in all kinds of core journals and magazines both in China and abroad, more than 50 academic monographs, translations, and teaching materials are published, 1 third prize of China Young Scientists Award, University Young Teacher Award and Outstanding Achievements of Humanities and Social Sciences in Chinese University, 4 second prizes of Sichuan Province Scientific and Technological Progress, 1 first prize of Philosophy and Social Science in Sichuan, 6 second prizes and 18 third ones.

During these years, the College has also achieved great success in terms of teaching, including enterprise management as the key discipline of Sichuan Province, management science as undergraduates teaching base of Sichuan Province, 4 provincial level fine-designed courses, 2 courses lined in the 11th five-year planning. Meanwhile, undergraduate students won the second prize of 2004 National Contest of Marketing Planning, second prize of the 9th National “Challenging the Cup” in 2005, top 1 in 2005 ACCA examination of Human Resource Management and Financial Management Information System.  MBA students in our school won the Global Management Contest (GMC) in 2005, ranked 1 in list of full-time MBA of Forbes (Chinese version) in China, ranked 10 in list of MBA graduates wage increase rate in Forbes (Chinese version), all of which are all the top of the western universities of China.

The principle of “cradle of fostering future entrepreneur and base of bring up high-quality managers” has been built up, based on which nearly 10 thousand high-level managers have been fostered here for society.
