Guangdong University of Technology is a key university of Guangdong Province with a history of over 50 years. It is a multi-disciplinary university offering a wide range of courses in engineering, science and technology, business management, liberal arts and law, with major emphasis on the study of engineering. Guangdong University of Technology is privileged to confer Bachelor's, Master's and Doctor's degrees on students.

The University is located in Guangzhou, in south China. It has several campuses with a total land area of more than 2.23 square kilometers and floorspace of over 1.62 square kilometers. The main campus is located at No. 100 Waihuan Xi Road, in the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center. The University has more than 2000 full-time teachers. At present, the full-time student population is over 45, 000. The University also enrolls international students and various levels of continuing education students .

The University comprises 19 faculties and schools, offering 65 bachelor's programs, 20 first-grade master's and doctoral programs, 19 doctoral programs, 64 master's programs (including MBA program), 17 engineering master degree programs, and 4 stations for post-doctoral research.The University has set up 14 provincial key disciplines, 1 key lab designated by Ministry of Education of China, 2 provincial key labs, 11 key labs designated by Guangdong Department of Education, 26 provincial key courses, 13 provincial name-brand specialties, 1 national and 17 provincial excellent courses, and 1 national and 10 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers. The University has also established research institutes and centers in various fields. The equipment and devices for teaching and research are valued at over 436 million RMB. The University library has a collection of 3.17 million volumes and 384GB electronic journals and books.
