Vice President Zhang Li Attends the 7th Guangzhou-Taiwan University Presidents Forum

On December 9, the 7th Guangzhou-Taiwan University Presidents Forum was held at Dongfang Hotel in Guangzhou. The forum was sponsored by the Guangzhou Taiwan affairs Office, Guangzhou University and Taiwan I-Shou University. The theme of the forum was "Guangzhou-Taiwan cooperation and exchange strategies”. Over 120 presidents and representatives of 20 Taiwan universities and 30 Guangzhou Universities attended the forum.
 
During the forum, Vice President Professor Zhang Li delivered a speech on behalf of the University. She pointed out that GDUT attached great importance to international cooperation and exchange. The university has established cooperative relationships with over 90 universities in both foreign countries and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions and obtained noticeable achievements in educational cooperation, joint research, personnel training and joint-sponsored conferences, etc. In recent years, the university has established cooperation with Taiwan Yuan Ze University, University of Kaohsiung and Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology and carried out substantive cooperation in exchange of teachers and students and holding academic seminars. The university has also undertaken the 4th Guangdong-Taiwan Higher Education Forum. Vice President Zhang hoped that through the forum, Guangdong and Taiwan universities could further expand exchanging visits of teachers and students, strengthen exchange and cooperation in science and research, promote Chinese culture and push the mutual development of higher education in both Guangdong and Taiwan.
