Founded in 1956, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CDUTCM) is one of the four earliest TCM universities in China upon the approval of the State Council and currently comprises 15 separate sub-colleges. CDUTCM is located in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, which is well-known as the cradle of famous Chinese Medicine doctors and treasure house of Chinese Herbs. Initially called “Chengdu College of TCM ", the institution was renamed CDUTCM by the State Education Commission in 1995 and has been graded as a provincial key university ever since then. The university has developed into a key university co-sponsored by Sichuan Provincial Government and the State Administration of TCM of China after its merger with Sichuan Continuing Education College of Medical Sciences and Sichuan Reproductive Health Institute in June 2006. Moreover, it won high recognition in the National Evaluation of Undergraduate Teaching conducted by the Ministry of Education in 2007.
