The 2017 International Students’ Singing Competition Held SuccessfullyFrom May 26th to June 3rd, College of International Education held the 2017 International Students’ Singing Competition. The purpose is to enrich students’ cultural life, give them a platform to show their talent and create an upbeat atmosphere. A total of 37 students from countries such as Mongolia, India, Russia, Nepal, South Korea and Pakistan signed up for the competition. After the preliminary round of fierce competition, 16 pairs of contestants stood out and made to the final round. On June 3rd, the final competition was unveiled on the Mayflower Square of the Central Campus. Contestants speaking different languages and from different countries presented wonderful performances. Their singing was gentle and mellow, or clear and ethereal, or passionate and inspiring. Moved by the music, the audience all tapped to the beat, and some danced to the music and shared their joy. At last, judges who were teachers from the Art College decided the winners of the first prize, the second prize, the third prize, the prize for best vitality, the prize of Chinese style, the prize for best costume and the prize for high morality. Batjargal Bayarsaikhan from Mongolia outperformed everyone else with a passionate and melodious Mongolian song“Jinhene hair zurhend ulddeg” and won the first prize. As part of the celebrations of graduation, the International Students’ Singing Competition added to the cultural atmosphere on the campus and enhanced the cohesion in Jilin University.
