College of Liberal ArtsCollege of Liberal Arts is one of the colleges which enjoys the longest history and the greatest influence. It provides specialties including Chinese Language and Literature, Talent Training Base for National Fundamental Discipline (Chinese) and Chinese Secretary. This college has one Postdoctoral Research Station in Chinese Language and Literature, two doctoral programs in which Chinese Philology Chinese and Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature, and 8 postgraduate programs covering Literature and Art, Ancient Chinese Literature, Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature, Philology in Chinese, Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, Comparative Literature and World Literature, Chinese Teaching Theory of High School and Chinese Classical philology. Among them, Philology in Chinese and Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature are key provincial disciplines, and Hunan Cultural Studies is a key discipline of the university constructed under “Project 211”. College of Liberal Arts has also set up research institutes of Chinese Literature, Classical Philology, Comparative Literature and World Literature, Buddhist Language and Vernacular.
College of Liberal Arts has 98 full-time teachers, among whom there are 32 professors, 39 associate professors, and has totally around 2,000 undergraduates and postgraduates. It is an important base and cradle where talents in Chinese and Secretary are fostered. |
