International College of Ningbo University

As one of the 19 colleges (or faculties) under Ningbo University (NBU), the International College boasts advanced academic facilities and enjoys an international atmosphere. It serves as the university’s window of introducing advanced international education resources and exporting China’s higher education, and as well as its cradle of fostering international students and globalized professionals. In accordance with the college motto of “Virtuous and Versatile, Innovational and International”, the college persists in offering quality education with the student-oriented notion, and as a result, has established a unique internationalized education mode with various levels, standard administration and remarkable characteristics.

     In international educational cooperation, the college has established several successful cooperative or joint programs at various levels. NBU-UM BBA Program offers 2+2 or 4+0 modules for bachelor degree study with mutual credit transfer between NBU and UM. Accounting Program (CGA Concentration) adopts a dual-certificate module of curriculum in cooperation with CGA. Accounting Program (ACCA Concentration) adopts a dual-certificate module of curriculum in cooperation with ACCA. NBU-Humber Joint IBA Program offers a 2+1+X module of study leading to a three-year specialty diploma from Humber Institute and a bachelor degree diploma from another university in North America. NBU-UC Joint MBA Program offers courses jointly delivered by famous professors from both NBU and UC.

     In social service and training, the college hosts institutions including CGA Ningbo Training Center which is the only authorized training organization in the mainland of China by CGA Association, Ningbo University Overseas Study Service which provides excellent service to those who aspire to further their study in foreign countries, and Ningbo University HSK Test Center which provides convenience to the foreigners who take the Chinese language proficiency test.

     In international student education and cultural exchange, a holistic structure has been formed ranging from short-term language programs to undergraduate degree and master degree programs for international students. In particular, the college offers Chinese language undergraduate program, BBA undergraduate program and MBA program. Courses of BBA and MBA are taught in English. And the success of the Iceland Northern Lights Confucius Institute greatly enhances the educational cooperation and cultural exchanges between China and Iceland.

     The college boasts three professional teaching groups specializing in business management, English language and Chinese language. All teachers have overseas educational background. In addition, 10 to 15 foreign teachers are employed annually. The college sponsors some regular academic and student activities characteristic of internationalization and professionalism, i.e. “International Expert Lecture”, “Sino-Australian MBA Forum”, “Ningbo Accounting Forum”, and “Rainbow Bridge” which is to show the talents of the international students. Currently, there are about 800 Chinese students and over 200 overseas students annually at the college.

     In the last decade since its foundation, the college has fostered over 300 advanced professional managers, over 2,000 graduates specializing in international business management, and over 1,800 overseas students from 50 countries around the globe. Thanks to its sufficient educational experience and outstanding administration, International College of NBU has won enormous praise and recognition from various circles of the society, made great devotion to both the local economic / social development and Sino-foreign cultural exchanges.
