School of Medical Technology

School of Medical Science and Laboratory Medicine, Jiangsu University consists of two faculties (Laboratory Medical Science, Image Medicine) in which Laboratory Medical Science is one of the top five major in the education concerning to laboratory medicin in whole China. The Laboratory Medical Science is also provincial key discipline of Jiangsu province. There are two research institutes, one experimental teaching center, nine departments in the school. The school currently has 1200 undergraduate students and 120 graduate students. It has four disciplines to confer Master degrees, which are Clinical Laboratory Science, Immunology, Pathogenic Biology, and Image Medicine. The discipline of Clinical Laboratory Science can also confer Doctoral degree. The school recently acquires the many fundations from national and provincial nature science funds. The scientific research in the school mainly focus on dentritic cells, stem cells, molecular mechanisms of cancer cells, thrombosis and hemostasis, pathogenic molecular biology and gene diagnosis, as well as multilayer spiral CT etc.

The School has 70 full-time teachers, among which are 8 professors, 22 associate professors. 26 of teachers got the doctoral degree, 17 of employees got the master degree. 1 expert acquires the government’s allowance with outstanding contribution to educations. 2 experts have got the honors of “the experts of over century”, 2 persons have been selected in “Human Resources Project 333” within Jiangsu province. And one person got the honor of “the medical expert of Jiangsu Province”.

In recent years, the school has got many achievements both in education and research fields. The discipline of Clinical laboratory Science of our school becomes the representative major in Jiangsu province. The laboratory medicine group is one of the most excellent groups within Jiangsu province. Two major courses have been conformed as the first level of the whole education courses in province, and another three courses as the second level of those. The school got 17 awards for technology progress, including 6 at provincial level and 11 at civic level. It also won the excellent teaching awards at the 1st , 2nd  and 3rd prizes respectively. It has recently got 9 National Natural Science Funds, 9 other research projects of nation and more than 30 research projects of Jiangsu province. More than 400 papers are published on different journals at home and abroad, including 30 embodied by SCI.
