All the foreigners aged from 18 to 60 are all welcome to attend this course as long as they are healthy and interested in Chinese and want to improve their Chinese.The Duration should be half a year or more. And for each term, there will be four different types of class, namely, the Pre-starters, the Grundstufe, the Mittelstufe and the Oberstufe. Students who have never learned Chinese would be aked to attend the Pre-starters’ class, while those who have learned something about Chinese can attend the Grundstufe, the Mittelstufe and the Oberstufe respectively according to their test marks. All the students will have classes from Monday to Friday, with 20 to 24 classes in total.Those who have always observed the rules and regulations of the university and concentrated on their studies would gain the Certifitate of Achievement from Soochow University as long as they succeed in every required exams.

Optional course: Chinese Mordern and Comtemporary Literature; Chinese Ancient Literature; An Introduction to China; Wu dialect of Han Language; Japanese-Chinese Translation; Korean-Chinese Translation

2. Short-term Students of Chinese Language, Chinese Economy & Trade and Chinese Culture & Art
All the foreigners aged from 18 to 60 are welcome to attend this course as long as they are healthy, and is in the hope of improving their Chinese in short term by accelerated training or they are interested in Chinese economy and trade or culture and art.The duration will be 2-8 weeks. And the students have to enroll by grouups(more than 10 people).
The major task for the short-term students of Chinese Language is to learn Chinese language, and the classes they have to take include reading, writing, listening and speaking.
For the students of Chinese Economy & Trade, there will be lectures in the morning, and visits to Suzhou Singapore Industrial Park and Suzhou High-tech Development Zone in the afternoon, thus to have a on-the-spot investigation to the foreign enterprises in those areas. Besides, there will also be trips to the rural areas, schools, museums and monuments of Suzhou.

All the above lectures will be given either in Chinese or English, and the translated versions will be available when a lecture is given in Chinese.
The starting time of the short-term classes is based on the discussion between the students and the university, the applications from the students are welcome althrough the year.
3. Undergraduate Student
All those who have gained Higher School Certificate at home or aborad can apply for the education of Undergraduate.
Requisites：The Higher School Certificate; The Certificate Ⅲ of HSK (Chinese Language students); The Certificate Ⅳ of HSK (students of other majors)
4. Postgraduate Student
All those who have gained the Bachelor’s degree from an authorized university at home or abroad can apply for the education of Postgraduate.
Requisites: The Undergraduate Diploma and the Bachelor’s degree, the Certificate Ⅶ of HSK, and the recommendations from two associate professors or more.
5. PHD Student
All those who have gained a Master’s degree from an authorized university at home or abroad can apply for the education of Doctor.
Requisites: The Postgraduate Diploma and the Master’s degree, the Certificate Ⅶ of HSK, and the recommendations from two associate professors or more.
6. Senior Visiting Student
All the majors open to the postgraduates and doctors are also available to the Senior visiting students.
