School Of Act
Art College of Henan University is the earliest established higher art education institution in Henan Province. Its predecessor was Henan Provincial Kaifeng Art School .In 1953, it was renamed as Henan Teachers’ College Sports Art Branch .In 1956, it moved to Zhengzhou and became Zhengzhou Art School.1958, the Art School was renamed as Henan Province Art College.1959, it was renamed as Zhengzhou Art College. In 1962, Zhengzhou Art College was incorporated into Henan University, and became the Arts Department. In 1996, provincial Party committee and provincial government decided to establish Art College of Henan University which is under the leadership of Henan University and on the basis of Arts Department. In 1998, Art College of Henan University was recombined. The new Art College of Henan University combined the first Music Department, the second Music Department, Fine Arts Department and Industrial Arts Department. Art College now has 11 teaching units: Vocal Music Department, Instrumental Music Department, Department of Dance, Department of Drama, Musicology Department, Fine Arts Department, Fine Arts Education Department, Department of Plastic Arts, Environmental Art Design Department, Department of Visual Communication Design, Division of Public Art Research. In addition, Art College also has musicology, music performance, composition, drama, fine arts, art and design ﹝ environmental design, decorative art and design ﹞,sculpture, photography, dance, painting ﹝ Chinese painting, oil painting ﹞, calligraphy and animation, a total of 12 disciplines. Song Dynasty Art Institute, Fine Arts Institute, Institute of Calligraphy, Music Research Institute, Institute of Popular Music, National Vocal Music Institute and Guo Xiaozhuang Art Research Institute are all affiliated with Art College of Henan University. Art College now has more than 2,000 undergraduates, 350 graduate students and 195 on-the-job staff, including 84 professors and associate professors.
Art College of Henan College is the first level subject master's degree authorization centers of Art, Art master's degree (MFA) authorization center, and has rights to grant master degrees of Art, Musicology , Dramatic Arts, Dance Arts, Fine Arts, Design Arts, among them Art is the only first level key discipline of higher college art discipline in Henan Province.
Art College of Henan University is the "National Physical and Art Education Teacher Training Base", the “Music Talents Training Mode Experimental Area” of Ministry of Education, and the “Henan Province Art Experimental Teaching Center”. The Art Training and Creative Center is the higher colleges characteristic and preponderant discipline laboratory which is constructed by the central and the local together.
In recent years, Art College of Henan University has successively established exchange and cooperation relations with American, German, Russian, Indian, Italian and other countries’ universities and arts groups. Over 100 people visited our college and conducted academic communication. Art College has delegated more than 30 teachers and students to study abroad and conducted academic exchanges. Besides, Art College of Henan University has invited some experts and scholars who came from more than 20 art colleges of Russia, the United States, India or at home to give lectures or teach in our college.
Introduction of Chen Fang
He is the piano professor of Art College, the graduate student tutor,the member of Chinese Musicians Association, the member of the National Teachers Piano Academic Committee , the director of Henan Excelsior Course “The Piano Lesson” , the vice president of Piano Specialty Committee of Henan Musicians Association, the senior judge of piano speciality of the National Music Grading Test.
Introduction of Chen Jiahai
Chen Jiahai is a conductor, composer, the deputy dean of Art College, professor, the graduate student tutor, and the committee of Henan University Arts Division. He is also the vice chairman of Musicians Association of Henan Province, the chairman of Henan Province Chorus Association, the director of the National Teachers Chorus Academic Committee. Currently, he is entitled as “The Distinguished Teacher of Henan Province”, the national training expert of the Backbone Art Teacher Training Project of the Ministry of Education, the member of Music Education Steering Committee. He has received National Award for Best Conductor and the Provincial Literature and Art Achievement Award. For years, over fifty of his musical compositions and nearly a million words’ of his papers has been published. “Chorus and Conductor”which is taught by Chen Jiahai is one of the Provincial Fine-selected Courses. Besides, he has also host a project “ ‘Two platforms synthetic a line’--The Innovative Experiment of Music Talent Training Mode” which is the project of National Talent Innovation Experimental Area.
Introduction of Feng Baiyue
Feng Baiyue is now the academic leader in Henan Province, the dean of the dance department of Henan University Art College, the associate professor and the graduate student tutor. In 2009,his monograph "Dance Training Study Introduction" was published by the Shanghai Music Publishing House. In 2006, His paper "On Dance Training Methods" won Wenhua Award and the first prize of the eighth “TaoLiBei ” National Dance Academic Paper Award. In 2005, his paper “The Revelation of The Theory of Multiple Intelligences On Expanding Dance Teaching Ideas” won the first prize of the first National University Students Art Performance Activities Selection of Theses。Since 2003, he has published 27 professional academic papers in Chinese core periodicals, including 4 papers in the first level core journals ,12 papers in CSSCI, and two of his papers were full-text reprinted by the Books Data Center of Renmin University of China.
Introduction of Geng Yuqin
Geng Yuqin is the vocal music professor of Art College, and the graduate student tutor ,the member of Musicians Association of Henan Province. She has been awarded as the Outstanding Teacher for many times. Geng Yuqin mainly devotes to the vocal music theory, teaching research and study of folk music. Besides,She also presided seven provincial scientific research projects. Influential papers, works are: " On The Singer's Artistic Temperament" , "On The Development of The Imagination of Singing”, "The Significance And Role of Aesthetic Orientation In Vocal Music Teaching", "Discussion About The Origin of ‘Baduanjing’"，“The Cultural Characteristics of ‘Leather Wrestling Show’ In Southern of Henan Province”, “On Zhao Feng’s Higher Normal College Musical Education Thoughts”, “The College Students' Music Foundation".
Introduction of Han Mei
Han Mei is the dean of Vocal Music Department of the Art College, professor, the graduate student tutor ,the member of Music Education Committee of Chinese Education Institute, the director of the Henan Musicians Association, one of the fourth batch of Henan University Young Excellent Teachers, the member of Kaifeng committee of China Democratic League. For years, she participated in several provincial and school-class large-scale performances and concerts, and won many awards in national and provincial professional contests .Han Mei has published over 10 papers in the national-level core journals. Three textbooks were issued under her general editorship. She took five of the provincial research projects and teaching reform projects. She had won the first prize of provincial fine-essays selection, and the second prize of the first University Teachers' Best Papers of the Ministry of Education. Han Mei had been twice named as Kaifeng Excellent Teacher.
Introduction of Ji Qun
Ji Qun is the professor of Vocal Music Department of Art college, the graduate student tutor. Over the years, she has been working in the front line of teaching and has a solid theoretical foundation and rich experience of teaching practice with serious teaching attitude and broad academic vision. She has successively published over ten professional papers in “Chinese Musicology ", “The Study of Music” and some other academic journals. She has published a monograph and participated in compiling two works. One of his papers has won the second prize of Excellent Theses Selection of the Ministry of Education. Ji Qun had participated in several provincial and local theatrical performance activities, and cultivated numerous outstanding students who had won many awards.
Introduction of Jia Tao
Jia Tao is a professor, the graduate student tutor, the dean of the Department of Fine Arts of Art College, the academic pacemaker of Arts, the member of Henan University Academic Committee, the member of Artists Association of Henan Province and Art Theory Committee, and the trustee of the National Art Society. In recent years, he has already published many books and textbooks, for instance, "Outline of Chinese Painting Theory", “An Outline of Art”, “Introduction to Art”, "Aesthetics Course ", and “Introduction to Fine Arts”. In addition to that, he has published more than 40 academic papers, including 10 papers which were issued on the national core journals. Jia Tao presided one provincial scientific research and four provincial departmental-level projects. He has won one Provincial Teaching Achievement Award, two first prizes of provincial department-level scientific research, five second and third prizes.He published over 40 academic papers, among which 10 papers were published on the national core journals.
Introduction of Li Jianshe
Li Jianshe was graduated from Guangzhou Fine Arts Academy in 1985.Now，he is the vice-president of Art college of Henan University, professor, the graduate student tutor of design art, the academic technology leaders of Education Department of Henan Province ,the teaching team leader of provincial fine-selected course-- "Display Design ",the vice chairman of Henan Industrial Design Association, the deputy director of Art Design Committee of Henan Province Artists Association, the member of Chinese Artists Association. His works were selected for the ninth, and the eleventh National Art Exhibition. He assumed three national and provincial social science subjects and won eight provincial or ministerial awards.
Introduction of Li Changming
Li Changming, Male, the professor of piano, the dean of Instrumental Music Department, the member of Chinese Musicians Association, the chairman of Piano Professional Committee of Henan Musicians Association. He once got the first prize of Excellent Teaching Award of Henan University and the "Excellent Teacher Instructing Prize" of Henan Musicians Association. Li Changming compiled “The Practical Piano Course” and other four textbooks, and published over 20 papers.
Introduction of Liu Hong
Liu Hong is the deputy dean of Art College, professor, and the graduate student tutor. He engaged in cello teaching instrumental music theory research over a long period of time. He published “The Cello Playing and Interpretation of Song "and many other works. In addition, Liu Hong also issued more than 20 papers. "Cheers for China" and other 10 original songs were awarded as the first or second prize in the third, fourth, fifth, sixth Songwriting Competition of Henan Province respectively. In 1997, Liu Hong was awarded as "The Top 10 Faculties of Henan University”. In 1998, he was named as “the Civilized Teacher of Henan Province”
Introduction of Ma Junfang
Ma Junfang is a professor, the graduate student tutor, the secretary of the Party Committee of Art College，the member of Chinese Musicians Association. In 1995-1996, he went to study in the Belarusian State Music Academy as a visiting scholar. He has published more than 20 papers on “The Music Research”, "Art Hundred Schools" and other national core journals. Besides , Ma Junfang also published the monograph "Vocal Theoretical Foundation", and " The Election of Vocal Music Teaching Songs" which is a set of provincial teaching material. He had won numerous awards in the provincial or above-provincial professional competitions.
Introduction of Ni Fengxiang
Ni Fengxiang is a professor, the graduate student tutor, the member of China Industrial Design Association , and the member of Artists Association of Henan Province. He was graduated from Department of Industrial Design of Central Institute of Arts and Crafts in 1988. Since his graduation in 1977, he once successively five times won the honorary title of “Henan Province Department-level Advanced Teacher”, “Advanced Educator”. His works have been shown in the national and provincial exhibitions and have won many awards. He has published many papers in “Art ", “Decoration" and other core journals. “Formative Art" which is under Ni Fengxiang’s general editorship was published by Henan University Press as the university teaching materials.
Itroduction of Niu Dongyang
Niu Dongyang is the piano professor of Art College, the graduate student tutor, the deputy director of Instrumental Music Department of Art College. In recent years, he has published more than 20 academic papers on “The Chinese Musicology", “The Drama", "Music Composition", “The Piano Art" and other journals. He presided four projects of Ministry of Education’s " the 10th Five-years Plan” and one project of the provincial social science’s “the 11th Five-years Plan”. In addition, Niu Dongyang has already published three textbooks and participated in compling “Higher Music (Teachers Training) College Piano Course Rating"(one to six) which was published by The Central Music College Press。
Introduction of Peng Xichun
Peng Xichun is the assistant dean of Art College, professor, the graduate student tutor ,the member of Chinese Artists Association, the executive director of Chinese Painting Artists Association of Henan Province, the specially-appointed painter of Henan Province Painting and Calligraphy Institute and the academic committee member, the vice secretary-general of Henan Province Educational Painter-calligrapher Association.
In recent years, Peng Xichun has published over 10 academic papers on the core journals, including 4 papers which were issued on A-Level journals. In addition, he has also published 3 monographs and textbooks. His works have been shown in the national and provincial exhibitions and have won many awards
Introduction of Peng Ya
Peng Ya is a professor，the graduate student tutor, the academic subject leaders of art history discipline, the member of Theory Committee of Henan Province Artist Association ,the member of Plastic Arts Committee of Henan Art Critics Association. His works won second prize in the provincial social science selection, and won 6 prizes of the departmental-level and bureau-level contests in Henan Province. Peng Ya edited two books and participated editing three books. He has already published more than 20 papers, including 8 papers that were published on the core journals. In 2010, Peng Ya received a state-approved project and a province-approved project.
Introduction of Pu Guomin
Pu Guomin is the vocal music professor, the graduate student tutor, the member of Chinese Musicians Association. In recent years, Pu Guomin published more than 20 papers on the professional academic journals, among which 2 papers won the first prize of Best Paper Award of Education Department of Henan Province. In addition, Pu Guomin has published four monographs. Some of her songs were broadcasted by the music program of the Henan People's Broadcasting Station
Introduction of Qiu Yazhou
Qiu Yazhou is the Master of Vocal Music, the vocal music professor of Drama Department, the head of Ethnic Vocal Music Research Institute of Art College .She has been the teacher of Henan University since July 1987 when she was graduated. In 1995, as a government-sponsored teacher, she went to study at Belarus Music College for one year. In May 1988, she won the first prize of Chinese folk music group in the the fourth Henan "Yellow River shore" Vocal Music Competition. In June 1988, she won the Screen Award of The Third National Young Singer TV Grand Prix. In July 1989, she won the Best Performance Award of “CCTV Lian Huan Cup ‘New Radio Songs Selection’”. In 1989, she won the Excellent Teaching Achievement Prize of State Education Commission for the research “Vocal Music Teaching Reform and Establishment of the National Opera Speciality” which she has accomplished with vocal music tutor Wu Xiuzhi.
Introduction of Wang Yanfa
Wang Yanfa is a professor, the graduate student tutor, the member of Humanities Division of Henan University Academic Committee, the member of Higher Colleges Art Teaching Steering Committee of Ministry of Education, the member of China Artists Association, the vice chairman of Artists Association of Henan Province, the president of Henan Fine Arts Education Research Association, the vice director of Watercolor Art Committee of Artists Association of Henan Province, the vice chairman of Henan Province Educational Painter-calligrapher Association. His art works have been selected for the National Art Exhibition several times and have been presented on “The Arts Observation", “The Research On Art” and other national core journals. Wang Yanfa published 3 monographs .Over 10 college art and art design speciality materials were under his general editorship. In addition, he edited one set of elementary and secondary school art textbook .In 1997, Wang Yanfa became the specially-appointed professor of Ministry of Education to compile the college textbook “Watercolor”.
Introduction of Xing Guo
Xing Guo is the professor of Art College, the deputy director of Department of Dance, the graduate student tutor, the member of Chinese Dancers Association .In recent years, she published more than 20 academic papers on the national and provincial publications .Her monograph "Chinese Folk Dance Movement Analysis" is now widely used in teaching of undergraduate majors of dance. “The Rhyme of The Huaihe River Dance” that was created by Xing Guo won the first prize of specialized group of Henan College Students' Arts Festival in 2008. Xing Guo’s paper “On The Relationship Between Dance Education and Multiple Intelligence” won the third prize of University Research Papers Selection of Ministry of Education.
Introduction of Yu Bing
Yu Bing is the master of musicology, the professor of Instrumental Music Department of Art College, the member of Chinese Musicians Association, the senior examiner of Chinese Musicians Association Music Grading Test. He edited one book and participated in editing two books. He took part in the completion of a provincial social science project. Yu Bing has published more than 20 academic papers on the provincial and national journals, and many of his papers have ever won the Outstanding Achievement Award in Henan Province and the Outstanding Teaching Award of Henan University.
Introduction of Yuan Rubo
Yuan Rubo is the head of Art College Fine Arts Research Institute, professor, the graduate student tutor, the member of Chinese Artists Association, the director of Figure Painting Arts Commission of Henan Province Artist Association. He has published many excellent papers on “the Fine Arts”, “the Fine Arts Observation" and other national core journals. His art works have been selected into the eighth, ninth, and eleventh National Fine Art Exhibition. Some of his works have been collected in the Art Museum of China, China Central Television Station and Zhongnanhai and been published by the People's Fine Arts Publishing House, the press of CFLAC .All of them made special subject introduces to Yuan Rubo’s works.
Introduction of Zhao Weihua
Zhao Weihua is the professor of Art College, the graduate student tutor. He was graduated from the Art Department of Henan University and received a doctor’s degree in philosophy of Renmin University of China.
Research direction: aesthetics principle, comparison between Chinese and western painting, oil painting and painting theories and technology research of Tempera.
Published works: "On The Subjective Form of Aesthetic", "Materials and Medias’ Recognizing On Painting Autonomy”, "The Concept of Tempera and Western Painting Styles”, "From Paradigm to Practice", "Painting Media and Modeling Style--Chinese and Western Comparative Study of Traditional Painting Style Language" etc.
Introduction of Zhao Xian
Zhao Xian is the professor of Art College, the graduate student tutor, the member of Chinese Musicians Association, the trustee of Pipa Society of Chinese Musicians Association, the executive trustee of Pipa Committee of Chinese Folk Orchestra Society. In 1982, as the representative of Henan Province, she participated in the National Folk Instrument Competition in Jinan, Shandong which was held by Ministry of Culture and won the second prize .In 1999, she took part in the preparation of pipa textbook of higher normal college that was organized by Ministry of Education.2002,she participated in the codification of pipa section of Encyclopedia of Chinese Art. In the year of 2001, 2002, and 2004, She respectively visited Singapore, Malaysia , Japan ,as the representative of Henan Province, and held personal solo concert successfully. In October 2009, she was invited to participate in the Chinese Cultural Festival of University of Akron, USA, and held concerts and lectures. In 2006 , her paper “Are Guqin Players Still There?—On The Inheritance of Guqin Art” was issued on the “The Study of Music vol. 4, 2006 . ” In December 2008,her paper “Listen To ‘Embroider Gold Plaque’ Again--- Consideration About The Large-scale Scene Concert ‘You Are Such A Person’ ”was published on “The People's Music" ,and was praised by domestic and foreign counterparts.
Introduction of Zhao Zhenqian
Zhao Zhenqian is the dean of Art College, professor, the graduate student tutor, the member of Chinese Calligraphers Association, the member of Board of Education, the member of Henan Province Literary Federation, the vice chairman of Calligraphers Association of Henan Province , the vice chairman and secretary-general of Henan Province Educational Painter-calligrapher Association ,the vice president of Henan Province School Art Education Association ,the head of College Art Education Association, the head of Henan Province Elementary And Secondary School Art Education Association .He published more than 30 academic papers on “Newspaper of Henan University”, "Calligraphy Review" and other academic publications. Besides, Zhao Zhenqian has published over 10 monographs and textbooks, and presided 5 provincial research projects.
Zhao Zhenqian’s works have been shown in the national exhibitions several times, and won many awards. His works have been selected into China-Japan, China-Korea, and China- Singapore international art communication activities. A number of his works were collected by Zhongnanhai, China Central Television Station and some renowned museums and art galleries. "Chinese Calligraphy" has ever published and made presentation for Zhao Zhenqian’s excellent works.
