School Of International Education College

Originally known as the International Education Center，the International Education College was established in March 2002 and got the present name in June 2003. The faculty consists of 140 permanent or part-time teachers from Henan University or its partner universities. The size of the present students is 2029. It has been running Chinese-foreign cooperative projects successively with Victoria university, Australia; St．Petersburg University, Russia and Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Germany. The Sino-Australian project provides undergraduate programs in international economy and trade, accounting, and computer science and technology, while the Sino-German project conducting biological engineering and international economy and trade, and the Sino-Russian project, the information management and the information system.

In the Sino-Australian project, the students study in Henan University for the first two years and after that they can choose to study abroad in Victoria University or complete their undergraduate courses in Henan University; in the Sino-German project, the students study in Henan University for the first three years and after that they can choose to study abroad in Anhalt University of Applied Sciences or complete their undergraduate courses in Henan University. Each project introduces advanced courses in partner universities and reinforces language training. Introduced courses are taught bilingually so the students benefit a lot from the advantages both in their specialties and foreign languages.

Abide by the idea of taking education, quality and service as priority, adopting the advantages from the educational practices both within the country and abroad and bringing forth an open, prospective training plan and teaching style, the college is trying to train high quality internationalized professionals. It has made encouraging achievements.  More than 2,500 students graduated and nearly 800 were admitted as postgraduate students to domestic and international universities in more than 10 countries or regions such as Australia, Russia, Britain, France, USA, Canada，Holland，Singapore and Germany.  Many graduates have found jobs in big companies, banks and government agencies both at home and abroad. The students’ employment rate upon graduation is above ninety-three percent.
