High Achievements of Major Research
(1) The project “Select Breeding of New Asparagus Bean Types” has been appraised as attaining international leading level.
The project “Select Breeding of New Asparagus Bean Types”, supported by “Program for Tackling Key Problems in Science and Technology of Wuhan City”, headed by Professor Chen Chanyou from School of Life Sciences, Jianghan University, has been appraised as attaining international leading level in researches of the same kind.
(2) The project “the Application Study of dust-removal and desulphurization of the combined Venturi-cyclone Scrubber” has been appraised as attaining international advanced level.
“The Application Study of dust-removal and desulphurization of the combined Venturi-cyclone Scrubber”, supported by “Science and Technology Program of Wuhan City”, headed by professor Yu Xinming, completed independently by Jianghan University passed the result appraisal organized by the Bureau of Science and Technology. The experts unanimously believed that the scrubber was a set of equipment suitable for removing dust and sulfa with middle or small-sized coal boilers (kilns), which had extensive applicative value. They also agreed that the research had generally attained the international advanced level.
(3) The project “Research on Countermeasures to Construction of the Contingent of Rural Primary and Middle-School teachers” has been appraised as attaining state leading level.
On May 22nd, the appraisal meeting of the project sponsored by the Ministry of Education was held in Jianghan University. The achievement of the project won high affirmation from experts present and was appraised as attaining the state leading level in research of the same kind.
Strong Facilities
The university has 29 laboratories of different kinds, and 150 sub-labs, which, in accordance with their functions, belong to 3 laboratory levels: general fundamental disciplines center, specialized fundamental disciplines labs, and specialized research center. They have altogether 16127 sets of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment, with a total value of RMB ￥123 million. The total floorage of laboratories is 55,000 square meters.

Close International Cooperation
The university places high importance on international academic and cultural exchanges. It has established good cooperative relationships with universities and academic organizations in the United States, France, Japan, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom and Korea. It aims at extending such relations with more educational institutions in the world.
Competent Faculty
Jianghan university has a faculty of 975 full-time teachers, including 500-odd professors and associate professors, reasonably structured in regard to professional titles, degrees, majors and ages.
