About HUEB
Hebei University of Economics and Business (HUEB) is one of the 10 top universities in Hebei Province, with Economics,
Management, and Law as predominant disciplines while Arts, Science and Technology are also highlights. In the assessment
carried out by the Ministry of Education of China in 2004, HUEB was appraised as Excellent for the fine quality of its academic
research and teaching. Founded in 1953 as Shijiazhuang School of Supply and Sales under the administration of Hebei Supply
and Sales Corporation, HUEB has then integrated three former institutions including Hebei College of Finance and Economics,
Hebei College of Economics and Trade, and Hebei Advanced Academy of Business in 1955.
Located in Shijiazhuang, the capital city of Hebei Province of China, HUEB is composed of the North, South, East and West
Campuses covering 3,400 mu (about 566.7 acres), and its Headquarters is at the north campus. Under two levels of
administration, HUEB has 15 undergraduate schools, four teaching departments and one graduate school, one school of
continuing education and School of Economics and Management, which is administratively independent. The university offers 55
specialties for undergraduates, nine first level disciplines offering Master's Degrees, and other 10 programs such as Masters of
Law, MBA offering Master's Degrees. HUEB has seven provincial-level key disciplines and two provincial-level developing
disciplines, of which Industrial Economics is an excellent provincial-level key discipline. Open to students from 23 provinces (or
municipalities and autonomous regions), the university has on campus 31,000 full time undergraduates and graduates, 13,000
students for continuing education. and 1,950 teachers and staff members. Among them, 1,100 are professional teachers, and
610 of these teachers are Assistant Professors or higher-level teaching staff. There are more than 220 PHD holders or people
working towards PHD. More than 100 teachers either enjoy the special allowance from the State Council, or are excellent Experts
under the Provincial Government's administration, some are candidates for The Plan to Support Excellent Personnel in the New
Century carried out by the Ministry of Education, or young and middle-aged academicians with outstanding contribution, or
provincial outstanding experts in the field of social sciences.
