Why Study in WSU
WSU excels in competitive sports, such as boating, gymnastics and martial arts. It also produced many outstanding athletes like Olympic gymnastics champion Yangwei, have brought glory to China in international competitions. Students won 326 gold medals, 236 silver medals, 269 bronze medals in international and domestic matches such as the Olympic Games, Asian Games, and National Games. WSU is recipient “Award for Contributions to Success in Sports” issued by the National General Administration of Sports, and has been designated as “National, Elite Athletes’ Training Base for Boating” and the “National Training Base for Chinese Martial Arts for Young Athletes.”
