Why Study in JUFE

Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE), founded in 1923, is located in Nanchang City, the capital of Jiangxi Province. It’s a well-known university in China, ranking 7th among all the universities of Finance and Economics. On February 6, 2008, Premier Wen Jiabao celebrated the New Year's Eve with the faculty and students of JUFE and delivered an important speech, praising it as an excellent university, which inspires our university to keep a high spirit and fulfill the satisfactory education for people.

JUFE is a high-level financial and economic institution jointly sponsored and governed by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, and the Government of Jiangxi Province. It has been a comprehensive institution of higher Education specialized in economics and management with other disciplines such as law, engineering, humanities, science, and arts developing in a coordinated way. Since its founding, JUFE has been adhering to the motto of “Fidelity, Excellance , Integrity and Perseverance” and the philosophy of “Dedication, Harmony and Striving for Perfection.” It is characterized with cultivating entrepreneurs who can represent the motto and philosophy and adheres to build a university featured with high quality, specialty, talents, rule of law and morality. Harboring the development goal of “high-level and internationally renowned financial university”, JUFE has been marching towards the dream of “a century-old famous school” with solid foundation, distinctive characteristics, and people's satisfaction.

There are four campuses in our university. It covers an area of more than 2,200 mu (around 1.46 million square meters) and has a construction area of over 900,000 square meters. The university has a collection of 6.436 million books (including 2.8 million e-books). The campus has a beautiful scenery and unique landscape. It is one of the 300 best greening units in China.

JUFE has 16 teaching colleges, including School of Business Administration, School of Taxation and Public Administration, School of Accounting, School of International Trade and Economics, School of Economics, School of Finance, School of Statistics, School of Information Management, School of Tourism and Urban Management, School of Software and Internet of Things (UF Software College), School of Foreign Languages, School of Humanities, Law School, School of Arts, School of Physical Education (Department of National Defense Education), School of Philosophy . Besides, JUFE has more than 40,000 students and over 30,000 full-time students, among which 22,000 are full-time undergraduates and nearly 5,000 are graduate students.

JUFE has five postdoctoral pragramsofapplied economics, theoretical economics, management science and engineering, business management and statistics. Besides, JUFE alsohas 35 doctoral degree programs of applied economics, theoretical economics, management science and engineering, business administration, statistics, law, principle of Marxism, 101 master degree programs, and 52 undergraduateprograms. In 1998, JUFE was approved as the first university in Jiangxi to run the MBA progam and in 2009,the first university to run the  EMBA program in Jiangxi Province.

JUFE has 2,179 staff members among which there are 257 professors and 444 associate professors.690 teachers owed PHD degree,There are totally 124 doctoral supervisors and 642 master supervisors, two of them were rewarded "Changjiang Scholars", two were granted National Teaching Excellence Award, 27 were awarded Special Government Allowances from the State Council and  two were listed as National Model Teachers.

Great achievements in scientific research workhad been made in JUFE. In 2017, the university obtained 23 projects of the National Social Science Fund,including two key projects, 19 general projects and 2 youth projects. Relying on the advantages of subjectss, talents and intellectuals, JUFEplays an important roal on Jiangxi's economic and social development, especially  the major economic and social development problems as well as the construction of Jiangxi, and conducts in-depth research to provide important research results, policy recommendations and advice for the decision-making of the government, enterprises and social management departments. The relevant papers have been repeatedly affirmed by the provincial leaders,  serving the local economic and social development as the "think tanks" and "decision banks."

JUFE pays high attention to internationalization . It has established stable relationship with 96 universities in 34 countries and regions. The universities included are Stony Brook University, New York, the University of Regina, the University of Southampton, Audencia Nantes, Monash University, Oulu University, Aalborg University and so on. Since 1998, JUFE had been allowed to run the Sino-US Cooperative MBAprogram and Sino-Australian cooperative MBA program. In 2010, it officially became the first member in mainland China to join the International Exchange Organization (ISEP). Since 2003, more than 2,000 students studied abroad in the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, France, Finland, and the Netherlands. Over 400 students graduated from JUFE continued their study in top 100 universities around the world such as Oxford University and Cambridge University for their master's or doctoral degrees. In 1999, JUFErecruited the first batch of international students from the Vienna University of Economics in Austria. Currently, it offers the major of international business in English for the overseas undergraduate students and four majors including international trade, finance, accounting, and statistics for the overseas postgraduates and doctors studying in JUFE. In 2016, it recruited 363 international students from more than 40 countries. In May 2016, the Confucius Institute, which was established in the University of Coventry in the UK, officially started to run.
