Opening Ceremony of First International Dental Students
The opening Ceremony of first dental students of Tianjin Medical University was solemnly held at TMU Dental School. Professor Wang Yaogang, vice president of university, Professor Guo Fenglin, dean of international medical school, Professor Gao Ping, dean of dental school and all the directors of dental departments as well as first batch dental students from 7 countries participated in the ceremony.
Firstly, Professor Chen Gang, vice dean of dental school introduced the history and academic achievements of dental school & hospital in the teaching, clinical care and research to the new dental students. New dental students from 7 countries made self-introduction. Vice-president Wang Yaogang handed out white working uniforms to new dental students.
Dean Gao Ping gave dental presents on meeting them for the first time. Dr. Sui Lei, director of dental school office led the Hippocratic Oath. Mr. Haris Bin Shakeel delivered a speech on behalf of all the new students. He expressed his happy feeling and realized his dream as a dental student at Tianjin Medical University. He and other students were determined to study hard and acted as students outstanding in both morality and learning during their study at TMU. They would serve as dentists to pursue virtuous character and medical excellence through eminent knowledge and expert practice after they graduate.
Ms Li Jingxiu, teacher in charge urged the new students to keep in mind the medical oath and follow the university motto. She asked them not only to study hard but also heighten comprehensive quality as good students and as qualified dentists in the future. Finally, Professor Guo Fenglin made a speech on behalf of vice-president Wang Yaogang. He expressed warm welcome to the first batch dental students and extended cordial greetings to the opening course of first dental bachelor program.
University expected all the students to cultivate their lofty ideal and social sense of responsibility, to have qualifications for solid foundation of basic knowledge and outstanding practical ability, independent thinking and humanistic attainments during the period of their studies at university to become medical talents in the future.
Professor Guo required the students not to fall short of expectations of university and their parents and become students outstanding in morality and learning and made contributions to dental cause and health care of all humanity. The new dental students visited teaching and clinical facilities as well as dental laboratories after the ceremony which strengthened their confidence of future study and stir up their determination to seek bright and glorious future.
